Wildlife Garden Project – Design/Progress

Over the last 18 months there has been a lot of planning taking place to bring the Wildlife garden to the Peggy Wilson playing field.

The primary school have been involved with Nature House in the planning, design and application for grants to fund the project.

The total cost of the project is £16,000 with almost all of the required funding being achieved from the following bodies. Huge thanks to them for their help.

Lottery Funding

Ernest Cook Award

Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

Agricultural Society

Skipton Temperance Hall

Work will be starting at the beginning of 2019 with the hard path being installed. The garden is planned to be completed by the summer of 2019.

The garden will be located at the bottom end of the field and stretch across its full width. It will be 20 metres in depth. A design for the garden is shown below.

There will be a a Summer Garden party for the grand opening and a number of community days for the local community to get involved and take part.

The space is an exciting addition to the field and will provide great learning experiences for the school as well as being a place for the local community to be involved with and enjoy.
