Community Garden Day #2 May 11th 2019

After the initial work to install the pathways and benches and the excellent work done by volunteers during the first Community Garden day to plant the hedges, trees, archways and dome, we are happy to announce the next stage of the community garden construction.

Another Community Day will be held on Saturday 11th May 2019 from 11am to 3pm. The project is fully dependent on volunteers from the School and the Community to help develop, maintain and enjoy the Community garden in the initial construction phase and the forthcoming years.

The main task for the day will be to install the raised beds and planting out the flowers.

If you would like to be involved please visit the Peggy Wilson Playing Field from 11am on the 11th May. Even if you are unable to stay for the duration, the extra pair of hands will be welcome. If you have any gardening equipment, it would be appreciated if you could also bring this along with you too.

The cost of the project has come from a number of funding sources but the project also recently received a £2000 contribution from North Yorkshire County Council to assist with ongoing maintenance costs.

We look forward to seeing you there.
